Leibniz Science Campus Ruhr awarded funding

The Leibniz Science Campus Ruhr is a collaboration between the RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economic Research, the University of Duisburg-Essen, and Tilburg University. One of the PIs from the University of Duisburg-Essen is Professor Martin Karlsson. The campus has been active for four years and has been awarded a second four-year period of funding. Only nine out of 21 proposals received funding.

Research in the Leibniz Science Campus Ruhr is focussed on “Health care challenges in regions with declining and ageing populations”. Its aim is to analyse the causes and consequences of regional differences in health care, deriving policies to address the impending under-provision of health care and evaluating selected measures to improve the efficiency of health-care provision.
